Greek mythology

Ancient Greece had quite different beliefs than anyone else at the time. According to them, the Titans roamed and ruled the Earth before there were even humans on Earth. When the Titans Cronus and Rhea had children, they were different. The siblings Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Demeter, and Hestia were not Titans like their parents they were gods. After they got rid of the Titans in a big war, Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Demeter, Aphrodite, Athena, Artemis, Apollo, Ares, Hephaestus, Hermes, and Dionysus became the main Gods. Some of them had children that either became minor gods or demigods most of which came to be well known heroes whose names we still know today.

Hestia is the first daughter and child from Cronus and Rhea but since Cronus was a really bad father, he ate his children afraid that they would betray him just like he betrayed and killed his own father when tricked his own father. Hestia is Goddess of the hearth and home. She is also one of the few goddesses that swore to never have children and puts her duties first.


Demeter is the second oldest but always seen as the second youngest. Goddess of the harvest and agriculture. She takes she takes care of the crops, grains, food, and less commonly known as goddess of health and birth. Her most known child is Persephone.

Hera is the goddess of marriage, women and family, and the protector of women during childbirth. Her symbols are cows, cuckoos, and Peacocks. She is Zeus sister and wife. She is the third child from Cronus and Rhea. Her most known children are Ares, Hebe and Hephaestus.

Hades is the God of the dead and underground riches. the king of the underworld. He is also the oldest son of Kronus and rhea. His symbols are Cornucopia, Cypress, Narcissus, keys, serpent, mint plant, white popular, dog, pomegranate, sheep, cattle, screech, owl, horse, chariot. He does not have very Known children. His wife is called Persephone, and she is the daughter of Zeus and Demeter. His God dog Cerberus has three heads and helps him guard the underworld.

Poseidon is the god of sea, storms, earthquakes, and horses. Second youngest child and son of Rhea and Cronus. His symbols are the Trident, fish, dolphin, horse, and bull. He married Amphitrite and is father of demi-gods.

Zeus is King of the gods and ruler of Mount Olympus. He is God of the sky, lightning, thunder, law, order and justice. He is married to Hera and his symbols are thunder, eagle, bull, oak. He is the youngest of his siblings but is king because he was the one to rescue his older siblings from living in their father's stomach for the rest of their lives and tricking him into drinking a Poisonous drink.
