Chelseas first game of the UEFA champions league quarter finals are on the 12th of April against the title defenders Real Madrid. This has been a highly anticipated game and here I am going to explain why.
In the last two seasons of the champions league real Madrid and Chelsea have faced each other twice. Each time the winner of this tie ended up winning the champion league. Both ties were remarkably close games with a late goal deciding the game.
This year most people think that real Madrid have the better chances as Chelsea has been in bad form lately. They are currently eleventh in the Premier League and fired their coach Graham Potter around a week ago. They have proven though, that in the champions league they normally show their better side. They played amazing football against Dortmund and easily won the tie. Real Madrid, however, is currently one of the most in-form teams in Europe. Their strike partnership Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior is working perfectly, and they are constantly scoring goals.
In conclusion I think that Real Madrid have the better chances in the quarter final of the champions league quarter final leg. I do think that one should not count out Chelsea though.
